A living adventure by                       Frances Lawson

Frances Lawson was
born in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1955. She is a direct descendent of the Libeau family, one of the original French families who left Rochefort, France in 1840 to found a colony in Akaroa, New Zealand. Frances is a member of the Libeau Descendants Society of NZ. She remains passionate about her French origins and would like to become a French citizen.

Originally a teacher for nine years, she spent many years in the commercial sector as a sales and marketing specialist. Seeking a change of direction and the opportunity to obtain a degree in applied communications, she spent several years as a public affairs advisor-environment, for Waitakere City Council, New Zealand's only eco-city. When Auckland local government was drastically restructured she found herself without employment prospects so, taking an uncharacteristic risk, made the decision to move to France in 2010.

A past contributor to New Zealand Geographic magazine, she is author of the popular blog To the Ends of the Earth. In 2007 she was ranked second in New Zealand for impromptu public speaking by Toastmasters International and was a Public Relations Institute award finalist. When she's not working on her next book she's teaching English, taking photographs, public speaking, gardening or adding to her bucket list. At the top of that list is to have a little house and create a garden in her beloved France, sharing her time between France and New Zealand. It's clear the adventure has only begun.
